Physics is the Art of Dealing with the Physical World

What the hell is Physics as a Second Language (PSL), or Physicsh as we are naming it? Students use to dislike or even hate Physics, which uses special jargon, that reminds a new or second language. To give an example, work in Physics is not the same as work in home work! Gravity in Physis has different meaning than gravity in daily use. Space has more complicated meaning in Physics than in daily. Mass and weight are confusing words for no Physicsh speakers! And so on. Basically, we try here to spread out the main ideas of Phsysics supported by free materials we find at Internet. ThankYouTube and thanks all other excellent web pages on Physics we recomend here!

For many people, the Physicsh is like Greek for Greek non-speakers. Hope our blog will help those Physicsh non-speakers! In my country Greek is believed to be a very complicated language to learn. Perhaps not! By the way, Physicists love using greek work in Physics equations to refer to angle, angular velocity or acceleration, friction coefficient etc, or do nominate particles like alfa, beta or gama particles! As you can see, Physicsh can also be as easy as Greek might be.

Joking aside, this blog is serious and it committed to teaching Physics. We do believe that videos, hypertexts, images and applets (dynamic and interactive images) are new technologies which can nicely support the teaching and learning of Physics (and other disciplines too). This is the main task of Physics as a Second Language. This is how I see Physics!

Let's start then...

Well, first of all, what the heck is Physics? Wikipedia help us to understand the meaning or the Physicsh word Physics! Herein we introduce Physicsh as a second language. Grossly, learning Physics is like learning a second idiom. Teachers and students know that. Welcome!

Every day Nasa publish a new and beautiful picture of the universe. See here the Nasas Astronomy picture of the day. If you missed the previous Nasas Pictures, see them by clicking here.

Physics is highly important for Nasas projects. Read about Nasa. And visit also Nasas web page.

The Physics language contains words like Space or Time. What do you understand by space and time? Watch this video from the Facric of the Cosmos: What is Space? or The Illusion of Time.

What is the meaning of Quantum? And Quantum Leap? Try this video also from the Fabric of Cosmos: Quantum Leap.

There we find also in Physics words like Multiverse. Can you realize the meaning of Multiverse? of course, it has to do with Universe. What the video Universe and Multiverse.

Physics has its own vocabulary. Learn the Physics vocabulary in The World of Physics.

What was Einstein's contribution to Phsyicsh? Relativity, mass-energy equivalence (E=mc2), photoelectric effect. Watch the video The Extraordinay Genious of Alvert Einstein and see by yourself his geniality.
